Merlétto-no-inu(Warp Brocade of the Dog in the Lace-like Pattern)

The lace, or merlétto in Italian, is said to be originated in Italy in the Iate 5th century through the beginning of the 10th centuty and spread throughout Europe and the Middle East. It was used in the border decoration and Ioved by the people because of its open work.
The hunter enjoying the hunting with the dog depicted in the lace-like design is woven in the warp-patterned brocade.
