"Selection of Patterns of French Origin" is now available!

Numerous designs created by France have captured the hearts of many people, both now and in the past.

It is said that Versailles in France became the center of European art in the late Baroque period (around 1675-1725). Later, around the time of Louis XV's ascension to the throne, the Rococo style, a sophisticated decorative style, also emerged, producing magnificent interiors, and a variety of brilliant patterns have been preserved to this day.

The late 19th and early 20th centuries were also the era of Art Nouveau, an art movement that spread from France to the rest of the world simultaneously. The period was characterized by the use of new materials such as iron and glass, and the decorative motifs often featured familiar natural elements such as flowers and plants, as well as animals, whose striking designs are still popular today.

Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono has also incorporated these French-derived designs and created numerous patterns. We will bring you an elegant time when you hold a textile with a hidden history and story and think of France.
