Collection: Kayokichien-mon(The Fruits, Leaves and Auspicious Monkeys Pattern)
Artistic work of lacquer wares flourished in the 18th through the 19th centuries. This pattern is adopted from designs drawn on lacquer ware boxes made in those days.
The conventionalized grapes and vine leaves, and monkeys playing in the branches of vines, arched and linked, were designed to be woven into our warp brocade in an effect of delicate and naive touch like mother-of-pearl inlay.
