The current version of this pouch features either a magnetic snap or a press-stud closure. This version, which uses the traditional cord-and-loop fastening, is a discontinued design and is now offered at a special outlet price. One advantage of the cord-and-loop closure is its adjustable fastening. With two loop positions, you can easily adjust the closure to accommodate the amount of items inside. Other differences from the current model: ・Plain lining (instead of a patterned lining) ・Includes an interior pocket Available only while supplies last. Don't miss this opportunity to own this beautiful piece at a special price!

Description

This elegant pouch is designed to neatly hold all the small essentials needed for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It can be beautifully coordinated with a matching fukusa (silk tea cloth) case and kaishi (paper) holder for a refined, harmonious look.

Its distinctive Japanese textile patterns also make it a stylish accessory for everyday use as a cosmetic pouch, organizer, or bag-in-bag. Thoughtfully crafted with attention to every detail—even those you cannot see—it combines beauty with practicality.

For those who do not practice the tea ceremony, it is perfect for organizing cosmetics, stationery, travel essentials, or other small personal items. Its convenient size helps keep everything neatly together instead of scattered inside your handbag.

Asuka Shokko-kin("Shokko" Brocade of the Asuka Period)

The original piece from which our reproduction was adopted is used for the hem and the border of the small banner of the Asuka period known as the oldest standard in Japan and called"Shokko" (meaning "made in Shu, China").This brocade is similar in design to that excavated from the ruins of Turfan, Sinkiang Region, China, and therefore this fabric is said to have been woven in the 7th century. The design is composed of a lotus flower pattern in the center surrounded by a pearl roundel inside a square. Being richly colored, this textile has an exquisite charm of "Shokko". We have woven the pattern and the ground into the warp-patterned brocade, same as the original, with our refined weaving technique.
