Description

The way the deliberately long, flowing strands of thread overlap in a variety of colors creates an elegant atmosphere, making it a delightful feature that you’ll never tire of looking at, no matter how many times you see it. This piece is perfect not only for traditional Japanese-style rooms but also as an accent in modern Western-style rooms.

Warp-patterned Brocade "Naga"

The deity taking the form of a great snake called "Naga" has been respected by the people of the valley areas of the large rivers in Southeast Asia. The local sailors pray to "Naga" whenever they go into a stream. A snake is a familiar animal for the people in these areas and they made it holy. Thus, the snake designs have been depicted in many textile fabrics. The pattern of this brocade is modeled after the textile designs made in Southeast Asia and woven into the warp-patterned brocade with our exquisite technique in original color scheme.
