Description
This tailored Nagoya obi (Kyoto fukuro obi) is perfect for casual outings in a kimono. Even when tied in the standard way—as you would a Nagoya obi—it is designed to look as if you’re wearing a double-drum knot.
Since the width of the obi around the torso can be adjusted to your preference, it’s also recommended for those who feel that standard Nagoya obi are “a little too narrow around the waist…” or “I wish it were a bit wider….”
The lining features the original Tatsumura Art Textiles label.
This is a must-have piece to pair with your kimono when you want to dress up a bit for tea ceremonies, theater performances, or other special outings.

Shosoin Pattern Collection
Since its establishment in 1894, Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono has been engaged in textile production based on "restoration and creation. Among these, research and restoration of Shosoin treasures is one of the cornerstones of the company's activities. Since Heizo Tatsumura, the founder of Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono, conducted research on ancient textile fragments at Shosoin and restored them, his knowledge, techniques, and spirit have been passed down through the generations to today's Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono.
In this feature, we have selected notable patterns from among the many Shosoin-derived patterns that we have restored. We hope you will see, touch, and feel the delicacy and beauty hidden in Shosoin treasures. Please enjoy them to your heart's content.
