The Tea Basket Set is the first to appear in the online shop.
We have prepared several beautiful works that combine Japanese tradition with newness in a well-balanced manner. Among them, it is a tea basket set that combines the stylish maple tea container designed by Jihei Murase and the silver-colored tea bowl made by Nei Fujihira.
The tea basket, designed to hold a set of tea utensils, is meticulously woven at the official purveyor of the Queen of Thailand. The elegant Gin Yoshino textiles are used for the ko-bukusa cloth, tea container bag, and tea scoop bag.

How to enjoy the tea basket
A tea basket is a tea utensil that is devised so that you can take the tea utensils used in the tea room outside and drink tea while traveling. This product was devised so that you can enjoy matcha as a cafe in modern living spaces, regardless of whether it is outdoors or indoors.so that you can enjoy matcha as a cafe in modern living spaces, regardless of whether it is outdoors or indoors.

About Tatsumura Art Textiles

■Our Commitment “Originality,
” “Restoration,” and “Aesthetic Sensibility”—these three elements form the core spirit of our company, passed down continuously since the founding by Heizo Tatsumura. We would like to introduce the dedication that has led us to establish the new field of “art textiles” within the world of textiles.
History Heizo Tatsumura, the company’s founder, established the new field of “art textiles” based on his research and restoration of
ancient textiles. We invite you to learn about our company’s journey, during which we have consistently shared the splendor of art textiles with the world to this day.
■About Heizo Tatsumura Heizo Tatsumura, the founder, brought “innovation” to
the world of textiles. We present a glimpse of his achievements as a leading authority on restoration, who devoted himself to researching traditional textiles—such as ancient fabrics preserved at Horyuji Temple and the Shosoin Repository—and elevated the status of textiles to the “realm of art.”

Gin Yoshino

There once lived in Kyoto a big merchant named Haiya Jōeki who was famous for his refined taste and for his wife Yoshino Dayū. She was a famous woman entertainer who got married him making a great romance between them, and his good fortune has become of the envy of his friends. She was endowed both with intelligence and beauty, and was known to be a complete mistress in tea ceremony. Among "Meibutsu-gire" ( a group of brocades selected by the head tea master Sen no Rikyū with the purpose to be used for tea ceremony ), we have a mate rial called "Yoshino Kanto" which is said to have been the one of "uchikake" worn by Yoshino Dayū. ( Uchikake is a full-length silk overcoat worn over Kimono on very formal occasions.) It is usually woven in“sanada”style with check patterns of colored silk threads on dark blue background, while with this piece we stress modern feeling by weaving a gold or silver thread on white background, and try to reproduce the feeling of the original "Yoshino Kanto."
