Collection: Small "Shokkō-Nishiki"

The term "Shokko-Nishiki" or "Shokkokin" refers to polychrome patterned silk fabrics produced in the present Sichuan Province, China, whose capital was Chengdu during the Three-Kingdom era (221-263), Shu Dynasty. The district was famous as a production center of high-quality silks with particular patterns. The design here is composed of floral roundels and geometric diapers, which gives us a fine impression of uniformity and neatness. This brocade is executed, making full use of a refined colour scheme and a superb weaving technique.
