Collection: Ka-sen So-ka-mon (Design of Flower and Fan)
The original fabric with this design was used for a pouch for a tea caddy in the Muromachi Period through the Azuchi Period, Japan (15~16C, AD) when people enjoyed a peaceful world. The design consists of flower of camellia japonica and paulownia in a fan, to show the charming atmosphere of that days. This fabric looks like a tie-dyed printed but this is a woven fabric produced by a special weaving method invented by Tatsumura Heizo 1st (1876~1962).
