Since ancient days, people have loved a design of a collecton of good omen, such as mallet of luck, clove, cloud, sacred sword, treasure scroll, and etc.. The pattern of this brocade is composed of such collection of good omen and a tiger often seen in the textiles made in the 16th century Ming Dynasty China designed with the hope of longevity and good health of posterity. Here, each motif is arranged in the ground design of stripe and triangle, known as uroko-gata or fish scale pattern.
