Collection: Glass "YOBOTUGI" Collection

We are pleased to present a collaborative work by Heizo Tatsumura V and glass artist Chito Nishinaka.
This piece embodies the resonance between Heizo Tatsumura V’s slogan, “The Vitality of Harmony, The Liberation of Harmony,” and Chito Nishinaka’s philosophy of “Destruction and Regeneration.”

"Yobitsugi" in glass is a technique in which the artist breaks a vessel they have created and joins the fragments together with glass. It is similar to "Kintsugi," a traditional Japanese lacquer craft technique for repairing broken pottery with lacquer, and to "Yobitsugi," a technique in which fragments of different ceramics are gathered and joined with lacquer to form a single piece of pottery.
