Hana-Karakusa Usagi Mon(Brocade with the Design of Flower Arabesque and Rabbit)
Influenced by China, since the Asuka Period (592AD to 710AD), the Japanese have regarded rabbits as a spiritual and sacred animal and have taken the design with rabbits as good omen.
The arabesque design also has a long history. It has been used and applied in various ways in many parts of the world since the time when the humans became aware of design and ornament. In Japan, a lot of excellent arabesque designs have been passed on.
We newly designed the pattern after 'Hana Usagi Mon (flower rabbit design), whose motif is a combination of a jumping lovely rabbit and arabesque, and wove it into warp-patterned brocade with our sophisticated technique.
