The zodiac sign for the year 2022 is the tiger. The tiger has been depicted and worshipped in various places since ancient times as a symbol of determination to move forward, as shown by its brave and courageous appearance. It is also well known as an intelligent animal, and it is said that its appearance has the meaning of being resourceful and awakening. Also, because of its beautiful fur pattern, its predecessor is thought to be a star shining in the night sky, which makes it a good luck animal. At Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono, we sincerely hope that this new tiger motif will bring you good fortune through our products.

Pattern Description

Shati-no-tora(Brocade with Design of Tiger on Shati)

A great variety of plants and animals are living in India. Abov e all, the Royal Bengal tiger is designated as the "National Animal of India" and the tiger population in India is proudly the world's largest. The design of this brocade is originated in an animal pattern o f the ethnic garment of Indian sari, or shati in Hindustani word, made in Varanasi, Northern India where has been the center of the textile production. We attempted to transfer the excellent ancient Indian fabric in to our warp-patterned brocade using our weaving technique enough to feel a breath of the animals.
