TEMPYO SOKA-MON NISHIKI(Tempyo Brocade with Double Floral Design)

Design of this brocade is modeled after a warp-patterned brocade of short sleeve waistcoat having been kept at Shoso-in repository in Nara since the 8th century. The design consists of the six-petal floral patterns and the lozenge floral patterns, both lined up vertically and alternately. This design is typical in the initial stage of the "floral design" which be came more complex with more petals on later days. We have woven into warp-patterned brocade with exquisite technique creating originality on color scheme and leaving the elegant atmosphere of the original.
