En-ka-mon(Brocade with Design of Monkey and Flower)

Weaving technique of textile fabric in the Andes Mountains had been remarkably progressed and uniquely evolved by the people who cu ltivated their place of residence in the high mountains, while attuning themselves to the peculiar natural environment. The design of this brocade is modeled after a pattern of a tapestry woven in the southern Andes Mountains in the latter half of the 17th century to the 18th century. We have made the warp-patterned brocade with the design of stylized vines placed gloriously and rhythmically and monkeys set back to back.
