Description
A wallet of brocade with leather lining.
Patterns
Gyokuto Seiza Mon
According to the Chinese book of government regulations in the Chou period around 1,000 B.C., the sun, moon and stars were symbols of the nobility.
Based on the original fabric kept at the Kyoto National Museum, the main motif of the design of this piece is the hare in the moon believed to be making a miracle drug for eternal youth and immortality on the background of constellations of stars.
It is executed as a warp-patterned brocade with a refined taste and gracefulness.
