Kōkasasu-no-ryu(Brocade with Design of Caucasus Dragon)
So-called "carpet belt" which spread from West Asia to Central Asia, once used to be an important route for the silk-road trade where a nomadic life had been generated under the severe circumstances of a desert and a steppe and the woolen textile was flourished which was called as "a flower of silk-road".
The design of this warp-patterned brocade is modeled after a pattern seen in a carpet made in Caucasus, located in the middle of Caspian Sea and Black Sea, consisted of the designs of dragon and Persian geometric pattern that are supposed to have been born during the history of the silk-road traffic. A work of refined art of ancient days was arranged into our warp-patterned brocade in rich colors.
