赤地格子連珠文様蜀江錦（あかじこうしれんじゅもんようしょっこうきん）
原品は、我国伝世最古の幡と伝えられる飛鳥時代の「蜀江小幡」の縁および坪の界に使用されており、現在は東京国立博物館・法隆寺献納宝物館の御所蔵です。この錦は、新彊（しんきょう）省トゥルファン地方の遺跡から出土したものと同文で、主文はアスターナ出土のものと同一であることから、乾封二年（六六七）ごろの製織になるものといわれています。
文様は、赤地に二重格子の中に連珠をともなう華文と忍冬文とで構成されており、多彩で華麗な印象をあたる蜀江錦です。
本品は原品と同じ経錦の織法にてなり、地も文様も経組織で織り出しています。
