Makie Houkanishiki (Makie Houkanishiki)

This product is woven on brocade with a motif of maki-e lacquer-work of the Edo period. Colored foils in pink, green, blue, etc. are expressed like mother-of-pearl inlay, and the ground is woven in Nanako-ori (diagonal weave), which gives it a more three-dimensional effect. The grape pattern is one of the auspicious patterns that symbolize fertility because it bears many grapes. This is an excellent obi to be worn with formal kimonos such as Tsukesake and Houmongi.

The obi that Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono has been producing since its establishment is the starting point of our manufacturing, which is expressed by the keyword "restoration, originality, and a unique aesthetic sense. From the design to the weaving technique, "Tatsumura's character" is scattered in every part of our products, and they have been appreciated by many people both now and in the past.
