Collection: The Attic Horses

Attic potteries occupied the highest status in Greece from the beginning of the era of primary geometric styles. This design, inspired by a sequent zonal decoration dated back 750 BC, is re-structured in vertical direction. Emerging from the geometric motifs in the background are vivid patterns of men and horses. The sentiment of the intricate design is woven into this brocade with skillful weaving techniques.
