Collection: Hitoezuru-kobotan(Small Peony of Single Bine Design)

This design is one of the masterpieces among the peony arabesque patterns which was designed for Meibutsu-gire, or a specialty cloth, used for the tea-container covers or the mountings of the picture scrolls and is highly prized among people who love tea ceremony in recent years. The peony arabesque designs are divided into the big peony, the middle peony and the small peony depending on the size of the flower, and into the single bine and the double bines by the number of the bine lines. This design of the small peony of single bine, with four kinds of chrysanthemum and the Japanese touchwood-cloud, is woven in a graceful manner in an exquisite color.
