Description

This is a small container for small articles necessary for the tea ceremony. It can be coordinated with the Fukusa and Kaishi Iri. The unique pattern also makes it fashionable to use as a sub-bag for everyday use.

We have carefully crafted this product, even in places where it is not visible. For those who do not practice tea ceremony, it can be used as a makeup pouch or back-in-bag. It is a good size for keeping small items that are scattered around in a bag.

The lining is lined with Tatsumura's original name.

About the gauze

This is a fabric with a coarse weave and a translucent feel. It is cool and suitable for summer use.

Patterns

Shikami-mon(Lion Mask Design)

This design is modeled after the ancient fabric kept in Shoso-in Repository, Nara Prefecture, depicting lion lined up horizontally opening the mouth. The pattern preserves the ancient Chinese motif of the t'ao t'ieh (ogre mask) in the Chow period (B.C. 1122-770). We have made into SHA weave which is thin and cool fabric, of which patterns are effected by patterning wefts which alternates with ground yarn.
