Kiku Hana-bishi (Chrysanthemum Flower in Diamond Shape)

Among the textiles imported into Japan in the 15C to 16C, AD, there were beautiful fabrics of velvet and gold brocade of which designs were chrysanthemum in diamond shape. We have arranged these designs of 4-petal and 8-petal chrysanthemum flower in diamond shape placing diagonally and alternately, and made it into warp-pattered brocade.
