Shusu-ji Goyo Soka-mon-yo Kin-moru(Brocade of Five Leaves and Arabesque Design on Satin Ground)
The brocade here was inspired by many arabesque designs seen in the gold and silver lace fabric. In this piece, a "five-leaf" motif is woven with a color yarn, while an arabesque pattern with a twisted gold thread in the lace style. The design is composed of the floral patterns within five-leaf motif, and of the delicate arabesques surrounding the ma in motifs. This is combined with the skillfully arranged color and schemes of a background color, a color thread and a gold thread, as well as a superb weaving technique. With all of these features, this textile is a piece which aims at a highly refined taste.
