Hōka Nezumi-mon(Brocade of Grapes and Mice Pattern)
This design is modeled after an engraving on the kaerumata, a decorative part of the main beam of Buddhist architecture. A combination design made of mouse and grape is often seen in the architectures, the engravings and the paintings made since the modern times.
We have arranged this pattern of the mice vividly playing in the matured bunches of the grapes and the vines, symbolizing the good omen of the bountiful harvest, the prosperity of descendants and the great wealth. We have woven into warp-patterned brocade with our exquisite technique.
