Description

This is a dehakuza used in the Omotesenke school, one of the tea ceremony schools. The beauty of the weaving technique and patterns of the Tatsumura-split fabric stands out. For important tea ceremonies, please choose the appropriate dehakuza for the occasion. It is a perfect choice for the season, and it shows your sense of taste and dignity. You can also enjoy total coordination by carrying a matching pattern with sukiya-bukuro and kaishi-box. They are popular as an accompaniment to tea ceremonies and as gifts. For those who practice the tea ceremony, any number of dehaku gauzes are useful. Why not give it as a gift so that you can choose a dehakuza that matches your outfit and your taste? It can also be used as a rug for incense burners and other interior decoration.

Dragon Boat Festival" collection of patterns to ward off bad luck

Children's Day in 2026 is scheduled to fall on May 5 (Tuesday). In Japan, it was introduced as one of the five festivals in the Nara and Heian periods, and by the Edo period (1603-1867), it had spread from the samurai to the common people, leading to the culture of carp streamers and warrior dolls. In modern times, it has taken root as an important event for boys, with its original meaning as a celebration to ward off bad luck and pray for good health.
Tatsumura Bijutsu Orimono offers a variety of May dolls and patterns suitable for to convey such feelings. Please take this opportunity to select from a wide variety of well-designed patterns for warding off evil spirits, including traditional scale patterns.

SAJI-KAZARI-NO NEKO(A CAT IN THE LOVE-SPOON DESIGN)

In Wales, Great Britain, people have a custom to send a LOVE-SPOON to whom they love wishing the happiness with all their heart. The LOVE-SPOON is a wooden spoon decoratively carved that was traditionally presented as a gift of romantic intent. The beauty and the complexity of the carving show the deepness of their love. Each pattern of carving has a meaning, like the heart pattern shows love, and the vine pattern shows prosperous life, and etc.
Here, we have made a design of a LOVE-SPOON adding a CAT, the symbol of an amulet and the happiness, on top of the Wales's history and her inhabitants' desire contained in the LOVE-SPOON. We highlighted the color of the cat by applying a contrast color with others to stress its supple silhouette.
Please appreciate, in your exploring mind, the lovely CATS' patterns and the LOVE-SPOON designs of this warp-patterned silk brocade woven by our exquisite technique.
