Collection: HOKOKU FUKI-NISHIKI (hokoku Fuki Nishiki)
The pattern of the obi was inspired by the peony arabesque carving on the Karamon Gate of Hogenji Temple in Shiga Prefecture (designated a national treasure), which was moved from the Gokurakumon gate of the mausoleum of warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, built in Higashiyama, Kyoto in the Momoyama period. The powerfully carved and dynamic peonies are boldly colored with gold and silver foil, and the brilliance of many colored foils, recreating the luxurious and gorgeous world of the Momoyama style. The peony, the king of the hundred flowers, is also called the symbol of wealth and nobility. It exudes unparalleled beauty and dignity.
